Little Eats detailed review:

On a rainy day with 2 little kids on holiday, what do you do? Eat and drink of course!! We piled Mr 3 and Miss 2 into the car and drove to Tucks Ridge. The view is divine and a perfect opportunity to explain to both the children the rows and rows of grapes and discuss the interesting sculptures in the garden.

The menu for the adults at Tucks was great, ranging from tasting plates to 3 course set menus with matching wines (of course!) We decided to take a gamble and order the matched wine menu (for us, not the kids), and yes, it was SO worth it. The children's menu was much simpler fare but no less impressive and made with seasonal and homemade produce.

Mr 3 can usually hoe down a full plate but Miss 2 will pick at some of hers, and her brothers and ours so we don’t normally order a full serve for her as it is pretty much a waste of money. So we just ordered a simple crumbed chicken salad and chips for Mr 3. The staff were so accommodating and suggested replacing the salad with a little more chips and the chicken would easily serve the both of them. (which it did) The chicken was lightly crumbed and the fat cut home made chips went down a treat, same with the delicious fresh tomato sauce!

Perhaps due to the weather or the fact that we were there during the week Tucks Ridge was rather quiet, but still the atmosphere was nice - very “grown-up casual” and relaxed. However if it is a nice day, and is a weekend or a holiday, then it can be the compete opposite and bookings are recommended.

In addition to the kids menu and accommodating staff, Tucks Ridge also offer highchairs, plenty of space for prams, a sandpit complete with buckets, spades and diggers, and even a big grassy hill…. perfect for rolling down!

Tucks Ridge was a great “Little Eats” experience for us. We’ll be back for food (and wine!)
